The combination of the active ingredients in LIMICOL® reduces LDL cholesterol. High cholesterol is a risk factor for the development of coronary artery disease. Approximately one million Swedes take medication for elevated LDL cholesterol, above all with various types of statins. Statins are drugs and are known to cause severe side effects such as muscle pain, upset stomach, headache, hypersensitivity & allergic reactions. The side effects in connection with the intake of with LIMICOL® are less than 1%.

The patented formula of LIMICOL® contains red yeast rice containing 2 mg monacolin K, extracts of artichoke leaves and garlic, polyphenols from maritime pine bark from Landes, policosanols from sugar cane and vitamins E, B2 and B3.

Careful quality controls are carried out in the manufacture of LIMICOL® with a focus on two substances; citrinin - a contaminant that can be found in red yeast rice and monacolin K - which can cause side effects similar to those of statins at higher daily consumption than 3 mg. LIMICOL® guarantees the absence of citrinin and a content of 2 mg monacolin K per daily dose.
